Adrian HenshellOur family extends to those we work closely with as they become important not only professionally but personally as well, truly we all have business friends that we also care about.

Over the holidays we may have a moment or two to reflect on the past year – successes and disappointments – things that in the right light help us start to shape how we may want 2014 to unfold. The more we are able to crystallize what we hope to achieve for 2014; both personally and professionally – the greater the likelihood of achieving these goals.

These goals can be whatever you want them to be: self-improvement objectives, financial targets, relationship enhancement objectives are the most common.

The difference between those that achieve their goals and those that don’t often isn’t talent or resources; it sometimes boils down to clarity of focus and single minded determination to not let anything get in the way of accomplishment.

These people set priorities, based upon achieving a clear set of objectives.

They always have their long range goals in mind as they manage their day. Decisions made today are consistent with contributing to achieving their objectives.

It is not the strategic plan that is paramount – although you do need a plan, what is truly important is a commitment to achieving the plan and executing a strategy that will achieve those goals.

When, from time to time, the inevitable road block arises, the tactical decisions made are tested against the original strategy to ensure the goals stay insight. So what does it take to have a successful year?

Clear, SMART goals

A solid plan to achieve those goals

A commitment to stay on track.

We wish you all the very best and hope you have a safe, happy successful 2014.
