This actual case study which took place in 2018 is about a commercial and residential renovation business that was experiencing very aggressive price cutting by competitors in its market. Sales were stagnant, and the management of the company starting offering deep discounts in order to attract business. The consequences were mostly negative, and shareholders even contemplated selling the business.
